My Experience and Learnings At So Delhi

I joined So Delhi as an intern in the editorial department. My role consisted of writing various client-posts that went on the website, on the Facebook page and the mobile application. Starting from about four posts a day, I went on to writing about eight-nine posts per day as per the client requirements. During my internship period, I also got an opportunity to review a café located in North Campus - Xchange Over Coffee. That was altogether a new experience for me and I learnt a lot about reviewing places/food outlets. From choosing what to order, to taking appropriate photographs of the dishes/outlet, to adopting the technique and style of writing a review; I gradually improved my writing skills.
After a month, I joined as a part-time Content Curator for two months and was responsible for all client posts, reviews, feature posts and articles that were scheduled (mostly). There were times when I managed writing more than 11 posts a day and there were days when I had to manage last-moment posts as well. Balancing studies and working together taught me time management and working under pressure (not compromising on quality!).
I also reviewed the following as part of my job role-
Imly, Rajouri Garden (client review)
Giggles Gift Store, CP (non-client)
New Book Land, Janpath (non-client) and
Niti Shakes And Ice-cream Hub, NSP, Pitampura (non-client)
My post also required me to research and generate new ideas on various themes and topics for the allotment of blog/related articles.
My overall experience of working at So Delhi – an online publishing portal gave me an insight into how the industry worked and about the technicalities involved in running a company. I began looking at Delhi with a fresher perspective and challenged my writing skills each day. I got an opportunity to interact with brand heads and representatives and produce an outcome as per the requirements and needs alongside not compromising on my company’s values, methods and ways. I am confident that the lessons learnt and the experience earned will help me shape my coming future in a better way.
